What: Press Conference to Urge Governor Rauner to Release $1.4 million in Appropriated in FY18 Budget to County Fairs
When: Thursday, March 8th at 10:30 a.m.
Where: Statehouse Press Room 010
Why: A University of IL study shows that county fairs bring $170 million annually to the state’s economy and support over 1000 jobs. The Illinois General Assembly sees county fairs as economic engines to rural communities throughout the state and believe strongly that the $1.4 million in level funding, which was appropriated and passed in the FY18 budget but that the Governor’s Office of Management and Budget wants to hold back on, be released.
